The Venue
The Alamodome is a massive 64,000-seat domed stadium that opened in 1993 in the heart of downtown San Antonio, originally built to lure an NFL franchise.
📐
Size & Scale
UTSA has called it home since the program's inception in 2011, giving the Roadrunners one of the most unique venues in college football — a climate-controlled NFL-caliber facility with a retractable upper deck configuration.
🚪
Getting In
For visiting fans, the sheer scale of the dome can be jaw-dropping, though the cavernous space means atmosphere depends heavily on attendance.
👀
What to Expect
The downtown location makes it incredibly convenient, with the River Walk and countless restaurants just minutes away.
PRO TIP
Enter through the Montana Street gates on the east side for the shortest security lines and quickest access to concessions.
